Autumn Moon Festival – celebrating summer’s harvest

The Autumn Moon Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar.  It’s a time to celebrate and remember the lore of Chang E – the mythical Moon Goddess of Immortality.  But the moon shines upon everyone.  From moon cakes to ribbon dances, it’s a colorful array of rich tradition in San Francisco’s Sunset District.
