The Happiest Place in San Francisco

The Castro Street Fair is an October tradition founded by Harvey Milk back in 1974 — and this year the theme was “The Happiest Place in San Francisco.”  Brilliant and true — it was the cusp of the Castro, Duboce Circle, that was my first home in this rousing metropolis back in 2005.  This is a fabulous community celebration where all funds raised go to support various charitable causes.  It’s a must stop for political candidates and this year I caught up with Mayoral hopeful Dennis Herrera and Sheriff’s candidate Paul Miyamoto.

CHEER San Francisco thrilled the crowd with their high energy routine and the beauty and invigorating boost of their performance.  It was a dazzling display of diversity all the way around.
